Various ways in which I spend my free time

Landscaper v0.3

A program that creates a random “landscape” by subdividing a triangle and adding a random height to all vertices, then colouring the generated landscape based on the height of each part. The algorithm to generate the landscape is based on my dad’s descriptions of an algorithm he used in a video card demo program. The OpenGL display code is heavily based on NeHe’s OpenGL tutorials. You can download the program here. I will try to spend some time tidying up the source code and post it here, in case it’s of any use to anybody. This process will probably be sped up if enough people contact me to bug me about it :-).

Electronic Music

I enjoy electronic music (Trance, Techno, Drum and Bass, Chillout, etc.) I mainly listen to DI.FM

I’ve also (sporadically) made some electronic music of my own, under the name of “Elektronishe Offenbarung” (Electronic Revelation). You can hear some of my attempts by clicking the links below. You are welcome to redistribute this music in any way you like, provided you do not modify it.

Thirty-One 06:05 This was originally titled “Untitled”, but I had randomly titled the file “11111.mp3” Since 11111 is 31 in binary, I thought that’d be a better title. Composed in MULAB with a variety of VSTs and VSTis mp3
Something New, Something Different 06:12 This was, as the title suggests, something a little different to the trance-type stuff I had been making. Can you spot the mistake in one of the formulas in the lyrics? Clearly my right-brain took control here :-) Composed in MULAB with a variety of VSTs and VSTis. mp3
White Hole 03:18 The first complete piece I made with MULAB. I later ditched the VSTi used (for the non-drum sounds) in this track, as I got the weird sensation that it produced inaudible sounds that made my ears hurt. I don’t know if this was actually the case, but low-pass filtering seemed to help. mp3
The Tracker 01:42 This slightly incomplete-sounding piece is a bit older than the others. Composed in the tracker program Moonfish. mp3
